Any SRTA educator who becomes ill with Covid should file a Workers Compensation (Workers’ Comp) incident report form with SRCS unless the educator knows they did not contract the virus at work. By law the forms are supposed to be available at each work site. (also below)
CTA won a change in the Workers’ Compensation law that shifts the burden of proof to the district to show an educator was NOT in fact infected at work. Because Covid can cause significant and even long lasting serious health effects, everyone who gets sick from Covid should protect themselves and their families by claiming the illness as a work related injury which is covered by Workers’ Comp.
